The Highlight of My Day: November 2015

Something good happens every day.  Here is what I was grateful for in November 2015:

Sun 11/1/15:  I am grateful for the month of November.  I like being reminded to focus on what I am grateful for.  Today I loved going to church and spending time with my family.  I made taco salad and a 7 layer "spooky" dip for lunch.  David loved seeing the sour cream spiderweb on the dip.  "SPIDER!  SCARY!  SPIDERWEB!"

Mon 11/2/15:  I am grateful for early morning impressions!  Early this morning, while I was still sleeping, I kept dreaming that I took two pregnancy tests and both of them were positive.  I was not planning on taking a test this morning, but the dream was so vivid, and the impression was so strong, I decided to take one anyway.  The whole time I was telling myself, "You are crazy.  You are not pregnant."  I was irritated with myself for using up the only test strip I had, but I did it anyway.  Twenty seconds later, the positive sign began showing up.  I am pregnant!

Tue 11/3/15:  Today I am grateful for love notes from my hubby.  Brad wrote me a sweet one today.  "Whether a girl or boy, it's sure to be a joy, to welcome a sweet new life, to our already awesome family.  I love you so much, and I'm excited for us, to receive this precious blessing from above.  I love you, Mrs. Beautiful!  :) Bradley."  Awww, my heart is full of love and gratitude towards my husband.  I am grateful he is the father of my children.

Wed 11/4/15:  I am grateful for little light snow-showers in the fall.  I love how it excites Lizzy and David, and makes them want to get outside and play. Both of them bundled themselves up and went out into the yard before Lizzy had to go to school this morning.

Thu 11/5/15:  Lizzy put in "Neverending Story" tonight.  I felt really nostalgic as I listened to the music play in the background, and heard the dialog from the script.  I know the entire movie by heart. I am grateful that my children appreciate the same movies I grew up watching, and that I have the opportunity to share these moments with them.  It's fun reliving my childhood through my children.

Fri 11/6/15:  I watched "When Marnie was There" with Lizzy this afternoon.  I cried my eyes out during the last 10 minutes of the movie.  Studio Ghibli makes such heartfelt, beautiful movies that reaches down deep into my soul and touches my spirit.  Today Studio Ghibli made me think of my Grandma Whitcomb.  She was one of the most instrumental people in my young life.  She helped shape me into the woman I am today.  Today, I am grateful for knowing her while she was alive.  My heart aches for her now that she has passed.  It will be 11 years in January.

Sat 11/7/15:  I am grateful for KSL!  Buying used items from KSL saves us so much money than buying things new.  It's where we bought both of our Honda Odysseys, our bookshelves, baby crib and bassinet, our Toyota Camry, lots of baby supplies, dresser set, filing cabinet, etc.  Today we bought a new couch set on KSL.  They are in very good condition, and were only $400 for the pair.  They are comfy, attractive, and they give us more seating in our living room than what we had previously.

Sun 11/8/15:  Dinner at Grandma's

Mon 11/9/15:  New furnance installed

Tue 11/10/15:  I did not write.  :(

Wed 11/11/15:  I am grateful for Veterans and for the freedom that I have living in this country.  Lizzy and David liked seeing the flag waving in our front yard today.

Thu 11/12/15:  I did not write.  :(

Fri 11/13/15:  I am grateful for family photos.  We went to Camera Shy in Jordan Landing to take our annual family photos tonight.  The color theme I decided on this year was royal blue, black, and white.  The photos, as usual, turned out beautiful.  I love my family.

Sat 11/14/15:  I am grateful for our annual Leaf Party at Grandpa North's house with Amanda, Charlotte, and Aksel.  It was a blast, as usual.  Scott and Emma came with us this time, and I can tell they had lots of fun raking leaves, jumping in leaf piles with Lizzy and David, and climbing up trees.  Scott climbed Grandpa's maple tree and the cherry tree, almost to the very top.  The boy is not scared of heights.

Sun 11/15/15:  We visited Amanda's new house.

Mon 11/16/15:  Small snow storm... library... searching for lost books... Supergirl

Tue 11/17/15:  I am grateful for PTO days.  It was lovely spending the day with Bradley.  We went to the gym together, watched Mr. Holmes together, and got done some chores together.  Plus, we had a delicious lunch together--- leftover pozole from last night.  I love hanging out with my husband.

Wed 11/18/15:  Today I am grateful for the Copperhill 7th ward.  We have so many wonderful LDS people in our neighborhood, and I enjoy getting to know them.  It was nice carpooling with Michelle Moon to the Stake YW in Excellence Night tonight.  I brought my Star Wars hats to display.  Scerinda Johnson will be ordering some for her kids for Christmas.

Thu 11/19/15:  I am grateful for morning sickness.  Seriously, I am.  It means I am still pregnant at 7 weeks.  I have not thrown up yet *knock on wood*, but I am definitely uncomfortable all the time, particularly in the morning.  At the present time, I have been having what I call "real" morning sickness.  My nausea has been more intense in the morning, usually lightening up in the afternoon after lunch.  That can change at any time, though.  I am bracing myself for more intense nausea in the next couple of weeks.  I am hoping I won't have it as bad as I did when I was pregnant with Lizzy.
