Liberty Park and Tracy Aviary

Last Saturday our family went to Salt Lake City's Tracy Aviary inside Liberty Park. We had a picnic lunch at the park before we went to see the birds. After lunch, Scott and Emma took off running to the large hill over by the lake. They kept racing up and down the hill, and Emma even tried rolling down it. I took lots of photos.

My favorite birds inside the aviary were the South American cuckoos. I liked them mainly because they were very, very friendly and curious. We walked up to their cage and they immediately came flocking down to see us. We could pet their feathers through the cage, and feed them leaves. They were so cute!

We saw many other gorgeous birds inside the aviary, including owls, eagles, flamingos, condors, parrots, and peacocks. Emma collected a bunch of feathers during our stay there. She loves collecting them. At the end of our outing I bought Emma a bird whistle (which turned out to be broken, unfortunately) and a long peacock feather. Scott got a 3D wooden bee puzzle, which he immidiately put together shortly thereafter.

We had a wonderful family outing. It was nice being all together again.

That looks like a lot of fun! I haven't been to the aviary in years and years. (almost slips the mind that it is there) What a great reminder. Thanks!
