Baby David has turned into a ravenous little monster this past week. All he wanted to do was eat. I was having a hard time keeping up with him, especially at night, when all he wanted to do was nurse. I even gave in and tried feeding him a bottle of formula, thinking that would calm his appetite, but that plan did not work. Bottles are not his thing and he refused to drink it. So, I decided that I needed to go a different route: I needed to introduce solid foods to him. After all, he's not so little anymore. He turned four months old last week. I bought some rice cereal and David had his first taste of "solid" food last night.

Whenever I gave my babies their first rice cereal there was always the next older sibling standing around. (Well, except for when Michael had his.) And the older sibling always wanted to taste what I was giving the baby. If you love the look on the baby's face, take a look at Lizzy when she tries his rice cereal! ;)
Lizzy was very interested when I fed David tonight, but she didn't try to eat it herself yet. Surprisingly, it was the cat who jumped on the table and stuck her head in David's bowl. She couldn't contain herself any longer-- she had to see what was in that bowl.
I always just asked them if they wanted to try it—and the answer was always "yes." So I just fed them a spoonful right along with the baby. ;)
