Finding the Fun

In every job that must be done
There is an element of fun.

You find the fun and SNAP!

The job's a game.

Last Week of Elementary School

Scott had a busy last week of sixth grade. Parties, school programs, activities, graduation day...

Brad and I went to see Scott perform in the sixth grade program on June 1st.

Scott does not like to sing or dance, but we watched him do both in the program.

He hardly smiled at all on stage (which is totally like him), but there's no denying he looked very handsome up there.

6th Grade Graduation Day was held on June 4th at Scott's school. Scott won five awards during the ceremony. It was neat watching him accept one award and then sit down only to be called up again a few seconds later. He's such a smart boy. We are so proud of him.

We love you, Scott!

Memorial Day at Wheeler Farm

The best way to celebrate Memorial Day weekend is with family!
This year we had a Memorial Day picnic at Wheeler Farm with Bruce & Loralee's family and Grandpa North.

Jessica, Rachel, and Kaylie spent the night at our house Sunday night while Scott got to sleep over with his boy cousins. There were a lot of giggles in the back seat of the van as we headed over to Wheeler Farm.

As soon as I plopped Lizzy down on the green lawn she took off at full speed! She apparently had places to go that I was not aware of.

Lizzy loved seeing the variety of fowl near our picnic table. She had a great time waving at them.

Lizzy was also entertained by Grandpa and Papa throwing the football back and forth at each other. When Grandpa let her hold the ball she wouldn't give it back.

'There's no way I'm keeping this thing on my head, Mama!'

Big sisters and cousins are the best!

Watermelon, homemade potato salad, chips, drinks, Loralee's shredded pork, homemade rolls, peanut butter for picky eaters... YUMMY!!!

After lunch we headed over to the farm to look at the animals.

I think it was all agreed that although male turkeys have pretty iridescent feathers they also have the ugliest faces of all the farm animals.

Lizzy absolutely LOVED the piglets! At first she seemed uninterested in all the previous farm animals, but when she saw the pigs she sat up in her stroller and starting talking and waving her hands at the pigs. She wanted a better look at them. I'm sure she would have crawled right up to them if given the chance.

The horses were a big hit. All the girls wanted to pet the horses, including Lizzy.

Lizzy called the cows 'dog.' She wanted to touch them, but they were too far away.

The girls had a wonderful time playing in the tree house. I think that may have been their favorite spot at Wheeler Farm.

While the girls were looking at farm animals the boys stayed behind and played Bocce Ball.

Hooray for FAMILY!
